After yesterday’s report about the latest new features implemented in the upcoming Ubuntu Touch OTA-9 software update for Ubuntu Phones, the Ubuntu Touch development team has decided to delay it for a week.
Therefore, we would like to inform our readers today that the Ubuntu Touch OTA-9 will not arrive, as originally planned, on January 20, 2016. It has been postponed until January 27, due to remaining issues that need to be fixed. As a consequence, the final freeze for OTA-9 has also been delayed until January 15, 2016.
“We apologize for the schedule change but without it we would probably have to re-spin the candidate image anyway, with the final release happening being delayed similarly. This way we can at least spend more time on polishing the image,” said Łukasz Zemczak, Ubuntu Foundations.
