Sony UK apparently acknowledged that Xperia handsets will start receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update from March 7 onwards. The first set of devices that are likely to receive this firmware includes Xperia Z3+, Sony Xperia Z5 line up and Xperia Z4 tablet. Not to forget, PTCRB (certification authority) has apparently certified the new firmware for Z3+. The new build number is reported to be 32.1.A.0.434, Mobi Picker reported.
According to Android Authority, sometime in December 2015, the Z4, Z5 and Z5 Premium running the Marshmallow firmware made a visit to the Wi-Fi certification database, which pointed out the imminent arrival. And towards the beginning of February 2016, Sony launched a beta program specific to Z3, Z3 Compact, Z2 in Italy, Spain and Netherlands. With testing almost done and dusted, it’s time for Sony devices to start receiving the update across the globe.
