GNU/Linux developer Arne Exton informs Softpedia about the immediate availability for download of his ExTiX 16.2 Build 160508 operating system based on the latest Debian and Ubuntu releases.
ExTiX is dubbed by Arne Exton as the “Ultimate Linux System,” and version 16.2 brings users many of the goodies from the recently released Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 (Jessie), and Debian GNU/Linux 9.0 (Stretch) operating systems, the latter still being in heavy development.
ExTiX 16.2 ships with the modern KDE Plasma 5 desktop environment, which replaces Ubuntu’s Unity interface. KDE Frameworks 5 is also installed, and the operating system is currently powered by Arne Exton’s special 4.4.0-19-exton kernel, based on Linux kernel 4.4.6 LTS.
