The final, production-ready Linux Mint 18 Xfce Edition ISOs are now available for download, supporting 64-bit and 32-bit PCs. Based on the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating system and powered by the Linux 4.4 LTS kernel, the Xfce edition of Linux Mint 18 “Sarah” comes with a great set of new features.
Prominent features of the Linux Mint 18 “Sarah” Xfce Edition operating system include support for the new X-Apps that have been introduced in the Cinnamon and MATE flavors, namely Xed, Xviewer, Xreader, Xplayer, and Pix, and the implementation of the new, beautiful Mint-Y theme, which is based on the Arc GTK theme and Moka icons.
Linux Mint 18 Xfce Edition also comes with out-of-the-box support for the exFAT and Btrfs filesystems, HiDPI and GTK3 improvements, the brand new Update Manager tool that’s also present in the Cinnamon and MATE editions, the MDM 2.0 login manager, multiple artwork improvements, and support for OEM installations.
Being based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), the Linux Mint 18 Xfce operating system will receive support for five years.
