Ubuntu Phones Will Get a New Music App with Lots of Features After the OTA-9 Update

According to Mr. Zemczak, the testing of the OTA-9 update continues. However, it looks like the Ubuntu QA team has found a nasty regression, which causes some problems with the interaction between the Camera app and the Content Hub component.
Nevertheless, the issue will most probably be fixed before the OTA-9 gets out. Otherwise, the team will have to push an OTA-9.5 hotfix shortly after the release of OTA-9. In the meantime, the Ubuntu Touch devs are working on the new Music app, which promises lots of attractive features, but it looks like it will be released after the OTA-9.
“OTA-9 testing continues. There’s one regression that QA found a bit concerning – the bug seems to cause trouble with content-hub and camera-app interaction, but might also hide some bigger issue. Besides that we’re also waiting to land the new music-app with a lot of new changes and features,” said Łukasz Zemczak, Ubuntu Foundations.
