Samsung and Canonical are joining forces to bring the power of ARTIK 5 and 10 to more IoT and device developers than ever before. Announced today, the ‘snappy’ Ubuntu Core image will be released in the coming weeks to help developers design, develop and launch the next generation of IoT devices. In the coming weeks the image for the ARTIK 5 and 10 will be made available on developer.ubuntu.com. This developer image will let developers fully and quickly utilise the power of ARTIK – a family of modules tailored for the Internet of Things (IoT). With a tiered architecture built for performance, optimized power consumption, and memory utilization and footprint, ARTIK is designed specifically for a variety of applications, from low-end wearables to powerful hubs with local processing and analytics. The ‘best-in-class’ security solution includes a hardware Secure Element (SE), with machine learning for anomaly detection, and a software Trusted Execution Environment (TEE).
