Waha Linux 8.4 “Hijra” is here after approximately eight months since the previous point release of the Debian-based distribution, Waha Linux 8.2, which was announced back in September 2015 based on the software repositories of the Debian GNU/Linux 8.2 (Jessie) operating system.
It appears that there was no Waha Linux 8.3 maintenance build released since then, so users of Waha Linux 8.2 need to upgrade directly to today’s Waha Linux 8.4 release, which appears to bring all the goodies and latest Linux technologies from the Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 “Jessie” operating system.
One of the key features of the Waha Linux 8.4 release is the adoption of the open-source and cross-platform Mozilla Firefox web browser, as a drop-in replacement for Iceweasel, thus following on the decision of the Debian GNU/Linux developers to switch from Iceweasel to Firefox as the default web browser for Debian.
