Calibre 2.68 is now the latest stable version of the application, but it’s not as big as expected when it comes to new features. In fact, the only new functionality implemented in Calibre 2.68 is an option in the Preferences -> Tweaks setting to allow users to have control over the list of servers the app uses as public email servers.
The rest of the changes included in Calibre 2.68 are bug fixes, for all sort of issues reported by users since last week’s Calibre 2.67 release of previous versions. Fixes for a regression with the connect server that didn’t allow OPDS feeds to work correctly and a book author validation problem have been included.
In addition to the bug fixes mentioned above, Calibre 2.68 comes with a user-friendly error message for failures that occur when the temp dir is created, better support for reading metadata from PDF documents, as well as small improvements to the Get Books features, and the ebook conversion functionality.
